Dressember believes that a dress can change the world and be the "symbol of freedom and power" that eradicates human trafficking and modern slavery forever. Blythe Hill, the founder of Dressember, decided her experience with fashion was the best way for her to make an impact. Thus, she created "Dressember," challenging herself to wear a dress every day of December to raise awareness of human trafficking. Her challenge to herself blossomed into an organization and a social media phenomenon, with advocates from all over the world challenging themselves to wear dresses every day in December to raise funds and awareness.

In December of 2018, I fully participated in Dressember for the first time and found that wearing a dress to school (particularly in freezing temperatures) sparked endless questioning about my clothing choices which provided me with the perfect opportunity to discuss Dressember and its inspiring mission. Dressember also inspired me to write a term paper about human trafficking, and I was able to confidently discuss the topic in front of my theology class while wearing a gorgeous Dressember dress made by women in Nepal.

The Dressember Challenge was a beautiful, educational, and inspiring journey that continues to affect my life daily. My newfound passion for eradicating human trafficking has introduced me to new paths and people, forever changing my life.
