New Blak, New Location, NuLu

After a few short weeks spent moving and relocating, Louisville's most fashionable ethical clothing shop is back in business.

The New Blak has a new location in NuLu. The up-and-coming Louisville neighborhood is the perfect area for blossoming local businesses. Several locally-owned shops and eateries have popped up in NuLu within the last few years, revitalizing what was once Louisville's abandoned Butchertown area.

"This new space is perfect," Amanda Dare, owner of The New Blak, shared on Instagram.

The shop, which was previously located in Oxmoor Center, now has its own storefront and unique space. "The mall has been amazing and helped us build our business so much, but I missed sunshine and fresh air. I missed the action of being out in the neighborhood," Dare said as she introduced the space to her followers on Instagram.

To celebrate their new location, The New Blak held a grand opening party with over 100 attendees. The party featured unique shopping experiences, an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, giveaways, and swag bags filled with treats and advertisements for Louisville businesses.

"This community space is for everyone that works for me, but this is [also] for you guys," Dare shared at the grand opening. "We have an amazing space for you guys to be able to come and feel this amazing feminine energy all day long."

The New Blak is now open Tuesday-Friday from 12-7 p.m. and Saturday from 12-5 p.m. The new shop is located at 841 E Washington Street, just down the road from popular NuLu businesses like Naive and Work the Metal.

As always, most of the products that are available in-store are also available on The New Blak's website. Along with their classic Little Black Dress options, the shop is currently featuring several of their most popular pieces, such as the Kate Jumpsuit and Audrey Dress, in navy.
