Subject: Death of SeaWorld Whales, November 14, 2017
SeaWorldofHurt News Release
For Immediate Release
November 14, 2017
The whales at SeaWorld are dying. Petition now to empty the tanks.
Kasatka, a forty-one-year-old female orca, died tragically in captivity at SeaWorld on August 15, 2017. This is just the most recent in a series of orca whale deaths at the hands of SeaWorld. Less than a month earlier, Kasatka’s granddaughter, Kyara, popularly known as “the last killer whale born in captivity,” died tragically on July 24, 2017. She was only three months old. Earlier the same year, Tilikum, the killer star of the documentary Blackfish, also died in captivity at SeaWorld on January 6, 2017. Tilikum was in his mid-thirties.
SeaWorldofHurt needs your help to rescue these whales from the captivity of SeaWorld.
Orcas in the wild typically live through their eighties, but because of their confined living conditions, SeaWorld’s whales are dying at a mere three months to forty-one-years-old. According to PETA, for Tilikum to have received the appropriate amount of exercise he required, he would have needed to swim back and forth in his tank 30,100 times. These small spaces lead to injuries, boredom, distress, depression, and chronic stress which can lead to pneumonia, the most common cause of death for captive whales.
At SeaWorldofHurt, we “urge SeaWorld to move the orcas and other animals to seaside sanctuaries where they can live safely with the benefit of human care, dignity, and peace.” We need the help of the public and SeaWorld to bring this mission to fruition. We ask the public at large as human beings not to purchase tickets to SeaWorld parks or support their organization in any way and to sign our petition to free the whales at www.support.peta.org. We ask SeaWorld to release their slaves and provide them with the dignity and happiness they deserve. We encourage you to visit us at www.seaworldofhurt.com or tweet us at @SeaWorldOfHurt for more information about how to empty the tanks and save lives.
